My IoT Blueprint

A Blueprint is a comprehensive record of your smart home installation — covering your property type, rooms, devices, network setup, and automation goals. Blueprints are exported as AES-256-GCM encrypted .hassar files that can be uploaded into Jim for AI-powered recommendations.

Navigate to My IoT Blueprint in the sidebar. From the hub you can Create New Blueprint (launch the 5-step wizard) or Review Existing Blueprint (decrypt and inspect a previously exported .hassar file).

Step 1 — Home Setup

Step 5 — Review & Export

The final step shows a complete summary. Review each section, then click Previous to go back and make changes.

  1. Enter your Passphrase — this encrypts your blueprint file. Store it safely; it cannot be recovered if lost.
  2. Confirm the passphrase in the second field.
  3. Meet all strength requirements: 8+ chars, uppercase, lowercase, number, special character.
  4. Click Export. A .hassar file is downloaded to your device.
Privacy guarantee Encryption is performed entirely in your browser. The server never sees your plaintext blueprint data or your passphrase.

Best Practices
  1. Use a unique, strong passphrase for each blueprint export.
  2. Store blueprint passphrases separately from the .hassar files (use a password manager).
  3. Log out when using shared or public computers.
  4. Do not share your .hassar file and passphrase together.
  5. Admin accounts should only be used when performing administrative tasks.
